Adding and Updating Licenses

You must add or update a client license when you receive a new license, you purchase a new application for an existing installation of MRI, expiration dates change, or the number of licensed users changes.

You can add a new license during the installation process, as described in the Installation Guide, or you can use the process described below, which assumes you have a current installation of MRI.

Note

You must have License Maintenance permissions to add or update a license. Refer to Adding and Maintaining Users and Access Rights for more information.

To add or update a license, follow these steps:

1.         Go to Licenses. The existing licenses attached to your client ID appear in the left panel.

2.         Click New to add a new license, or click Update to update an existing license.

3.         Browse to the location of the license file (Sysinfo.lst) on your computer and click Open.

4.         Verify that the following license information is correct. The new license information appears next to the current information for comparison. If you notice a discrepancy, contact MRI Client Support.

a.       Client ID—Displays the client ID associated with the license.

b.       Client Name—Displays the name of the client associated with the license.

c.       License Exp Date—Displays the date and time when the license expires and MRI will no longer be accessible.

Note

Individual applications may have different expiration dates, as listed in the SMA Expiration column of the application grid, described below.

e.       Concurrent Users—Displays the number of concurrent users for the license. Simultaneous access to MRI is limited to this number of authorized concurrent licenses.

k.       Number of Databases—Displays the number of databases operating under this license.

5.         Select the Okta Notification check box if you would like Okta to send an automated email to users with their new password immediately after the user is created or when their password is reset.

6.         Verify that the following application information is correct. If you notice a discrepancy, contact MRI Client Support.

a.       Application ID—Displays the abbreviation for the MRI application associated with this license.

b.       Application Name—Displays the name of the MRI application associated with this license.

c.       SMA Expiration—Displays the date and time when the application's license expires. Each MRI application is eligible for product updates through this date.

7.         Click Apply License to apply the license to your environment, or click Read Another License to select a different license file.

8.         If the license is loaded successfully, the client ID and name are added to the list in the left panel, and the details populate on the page.
